What drives the cost for a Markham business

Plan price is only part of the picture. Your total monthly marketing cost is the plan fee plus any ad spend, and both depend on a few things:

  • How many communities you target. Serving a cluster of central Markham communities costs less to market than trying to cover the whole city plus Scarborough and Richmond Hill.
  • How competitive your trade is. Emergency plumbing and HVAC searches in York Region typically cost more per click than, say, window cleaning.
  • How many channels you run. Local search alone is cheaper than local search plus ads plus business-park outreach.
  • Your website's condition. If the site needs rebuilding, that's either a separate package or covered within the higher plans.
  • Your capacity. There's no point paying for more leads than your crews can handle.

A worked example

Here's a sum for a fictional two-van Markham electrical company, so you can see the logic. Use your own numbers.

  • Average residential job: $750, with about 45% gross margin, so $337
  • Close rate on qualified leads: 40%, so each lead is worth roughly $135 in first-job margin
  • Target cost per lead: about $95, leaving room for profit
  • Leads the company can handle a month: 30
  • Ad budget: 30 × $95 = about $2,850 a month, paid to Google
  • Plan fee on Growth, billed annually: $1,499, plus HST

Total monthly outlay is around $4,350 plus HST on the fee. Thirty leads at a 40% close rate is 12 jobs, roughly $9,000 in revenue and $4,050 in first-job margin. That's close to break-even on the first job alone, which tells the owner two things: the plan only pays if customers return or refer, and cutting the cost per lead matters more than adding volume. Running this sum before you sign is the point of our first conversation.

How to choose a plan

  • Choose Growth if you're an established trade or local business with one main service area and you need consistent local search, a well-run profile and modest paid search.
  • Choose Elite if you sell several services, want multiple channels, or need a better website and would use the 50% design discount.
  • Choose Enterprise if you run several crews or locations, want a dedicated team and priority support, or need a full website rebuild included.

If none of them fits, or you only need a fix to one thing, say so. We'd rather scope the right job than sell the biggest plan.

Before you sign anything

  1. Check that your website, domain, profile and ad accounts will be in your name. With us, they are.
  2. Agree the cost-per-lead ceiling in writing.
  3. Ask what reporting you'll get and how often. Ours is monthly, in plain language.
  4. Make sure you can answer the extra calls.

See what's included in each service, read the FAQ for common questions, or contact us by call, text or email to go through your numbers.
